My sunday morning started out as usual, waking up to the sound of "Eagles - Hotel California".. beautiful. Went downstair for breakfast after washing up. Wondering what is there for me to do today? Maybe i might head to Starbucks again, to pick up some reading.
Before i leave my place, i was manage to chat up with my 81-year-old grandma. To my astonishment, below is our conversation....
Grandma (G) - "did you see the news?"
Pink (P) - "not really, why? what's on tv?"
G: now ah, the "zheng hu" (government) wanna catch ppl who kiss and hug (you can imagine the hand gesture that she was making)..
P: Ah ma ah... that's old news liao lo...
G: ah? "si meh?" (is it?) but how come like that one? ppl wanna hug and kiss also cannot...
P: -_-''' Ah ma ah... they all think ah, what they cannot do, we also cannot do in public...
G: "Ki Siau" (crazy) ah!! "ang mo lang" (westerners) all ma kena tangkap lo...
P: hiyo, ah ma ah... i think all ang mo lang dunwan to come to malaysia liao la...
G: hiyo... now the society more conservative compare to last time. last time alcohol you can get in pasar, now wanna get a beer also like have to smuggle thru kastam.
P: yeah lo, like last time you have party every weekend at your house.. so nice...
G: eh, Ah Ping ah, you wanna learn Tango or not, ah ma teach you... (hehe)
P: wait la, i got time first...
G: Hai... come to think of it, the new ah tau (head/lead/minister) also no use one... coming out will all the stupid rules. See him lembik lembik like that... stand also cannot stand...
(and then she went on commenting about more stuff while i unlock the door for me to go out)
As you can see from the conversation above.. Even my 81-years-old grandma also understand what is it like, to be in a free society. Although we claim that we are in the new age, but most of us still have the mindset of the stoneage.
We cannot continue to give up our rights, just because they think it's not right.
My advice to you, my dear government : " The more rules you have, the more rule breakers you will have" It's common sense... and i desprately hope that you can at least have some of those...

Interpretation of the word"ki siao" would probably mean that to deprive the rights at the expense of someone's freewill is the cruelty to the basic human rights. Perhaps,we should move thousand steps backward to the romantic way of expressing love through the love letter sent by the pigeon or the love message in the bottle to be in its freeflow upon the spindrift.....appreciate the conversation and the writter's thought. :)
